Local suggestions.

Margate is quickly becoming the seaside destination of choice. The picturesque Old Town rejoices in a cultural vibe, with many independant galleries, a cool cafe cuture, plenty of fantastic eateries, as well as numerous vintage clothing & furniture stores - perfect for a spot of weekend bargain hunting!

Margate is also home to the internationally-acclaimed Turner Contemporary, along with a wealth of other cultural, music & arts venues, including the Tom Thumb Theatre - one of the smallest theatres in the world! The newly developed Dreamland also offers an exciting calender of festivals & events.

We are of course also famous as a sea-bathing destination, with our sprawling sandy beaches & the popular Walpole Tidal pool. The spectacular sunsets that inspired many of Turner’s artworks are an event in themselves, with many heading to the harbour arm for a drink at sun down as a favourite pastime. From Margate you can follow the beautiful Viking Coastal path along to near-by Botany Bay, Kingsgate Bay & Joss Bay or all the way around to neighbouring Broadstairs & beyond.

Kindred House is situated in the heart of town, within easy walking distance to all the main attractions in & around town. View some suggestions below to get inspired!
